But if the pastor speaks different from this Word, then he is not a feeder of the eagles; uh-huh, he’s a feeder of the hens, see, not of the eagles. See? The Eagle eats on eagle’s Food. See? It quickens! How, my, the Dynamics strike That! But It strike a chicken, it won’t do no good. But when It strikes the eagle, he moves out.”

FIGHTING FOR THE SPIRITUAL FOOD

Dr. William Soto Santiago

Wednesday, September 13, 2000

Imbert, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

We have seen that there is always a struggle. There was a struggle in the time, for example, of the apostles, in the time of the apostles, in the time of Saint Paul; also, see how they persecuted the apostles and then how they persecuted Saint Paul, and how they persecuted the Christians in those times; but they fought for the spiritual food for their souls.

And now, we can’t just look at history and cross our arms and say: “That happened to them.” We have to see that now the time has come for us to fight for the spiritual food for our soul, even if we are persecuted. Even if we have struggles: we need that spiritual food for our soul.

Without that spiritual food our soul weakens, becomes sick and dies spiritually. But we all want eternal life for our soul, for our whole being; and Christ has promised it for all those who fight for the spiritual food.

Therefore, each one remain striving for the spiritual food, and eating that spiritual food all the days of your life; and thus Psalm 23 will be fulfilled in the person, which tells us:

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”

When a shepherd is shepherding his sheep, what is he doing? Giving them physical food for their bodies. And when Christ shepherds us: He gives us spiritual food for our soul. It says:

“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies (‘he shall prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies,’ that is, a spiritual table with spiritual food for our soul): thou anointest my head with oil (this is the baptism of the Holy Spirit, because the oil represents the Holy Spirit); my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…”

And now, just as the cup of oil – or the oil lamp overflowed with oil to give light: We overflow with the oil of the Holy Spirit so that Christ may give light through us.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…”

The good (God’s blessing) and God’s mercy will follow us for how long? All the days of our life, for all eternity.

“…and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever (for all eternity).”

The House of the Lord: The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. For we belong to a spiritual Temple, which is the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ; that is the House of the Lord, the Temple of God; where He has always had a faithful and wise servant to give the spiritual food on time to all the sons and daughters of God.

And so we strive for the spiritual food for our souls; and we eat it, and are well fed, and are kept in good spiritual health.

Keep striving for spiritual food!
